Kountze Lions Baseball

KOUNTZE - Kountze jumped out to an early lead on Deweyville and captured a 14-0 victory on Tuesday at Deweyville.  With seven runs in the first three innings, Kountze left no doubt about the eventual outcome. A walk by Chad Young, a sacrifice fly by Dusty Bevilacua, an RBI single by Stevie Fregia, an RBI single by Hunter Lejune, and a hit by pitch during the first inning helped Lions put some runs on the board early.  Ryder Lognion put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Lions. He doubled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Lions' Kyler Bumstead kept Deweyville off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up three.  Kountze was sparked by Lognion and Tanner Guillory, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.  Parkhurst couldn't get it done on the hill for Deweyville, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out one.  Kountze added two more runs in the top of the third. A error scored Bevilacqua to get Lions on the board in the inning.  Kountze built upon its lead with six runs in the fifth.  Hunter Smart singled, scoring Fregia and Justin Harper to start the inning.
